PAYG UTILITY METERS

Pre-Payment Meter.

A Pre-Payment Meter works similarly to that of a pay-as-you-go mobile phone. To use your gas and electricity you have to top up your Pre-Payment Meter with credit. These top ups are typically done in a variation of ways either via a smartcard, key or even through a smart phone. It is important to remember that Pre-Payment Meters are typically more expensive per unit price of energy compared to that of other tariffs however, in return you are in complete control how much and how often you top up menaing you don't need to worry about building up any debt.
